Thank you for all of your information. Your tracking splint journey takes the mystery out of the equation.

SO interesting. Lots of things here that are completely over my head, and that no one else is talking about yet. I have to read this one a few times to understand. And get a tracking splint! I really do think that is a crucial experiment in being able to see how your bite and structure are changing over time.

I've been reading your articles. Really interesting. Does sound crazy, but it seems like a low risk high reward experiment, so why not. Also, a friend whose teeth started moving (towards an ugly conformation) in his 40ies, he got problem sorted by a dentist who recommended to add a bit of mass to my friend's back teeth instead of expensive braces, and teeth went back in a nice line all by themselves fairly quickly.

Anyways, we have snoring problems in my family, all three generations 🙈, so I'd want to see if it will help (maybe experiment on my mom first). But my question is - can it be delivered to South Africa?

And I was in braces (all kinds, including palate expanders) ever since I remember. My teeth look beautiful now, but a night without retainer and I can notice them move back. How do I try this without risking an undoing of all that work (no 2s upper tend to want to stick out)

hi, yes we ship to south africa.

But note that teeth will move. Its part of the process.

But thing should expand outwards and the impact over the longer term on teeth should be very good. As arches should expand a bit, etc.

To resolve the snoring and mouth breathing during sleep, I use Somnifix strips: https://somnifix.com/

I find that I still snore when using only the mouthguard. Using the mouthguard and Somnifix strips together seem to give me the best results (no TMJ pain and feel more energized and refreshed in the morning).

I honestly still dont fully understand snoring.

My wife tells me i still snore sometimes with the appliance whereas she doesnt.

But i sleep like a rock. Literally nothing wakes me up and i feel really well rested each day.

Whereas she doesnt snore and sleeps very lightly and doesnt have nearly as much energy as i do during the day despite being 9 yrs younger.

So snoring has some other elements involved. B ut i do think when im competely done with my process that i wont snore

Hahaha, I used to be so self conscious about snoring that I would sleep lightly and wake myself up at first sound. It resulted in no snoring complaints, but years long semi-sleep-deprivation. When my kids were born though, I was just too exhausted to worry about snoring

Very helpful. Thank you.

This is very interesting to me. However, I have a question. The Starecta works more or less identically to a rubber mouthguard in terms of adding vertical height. The polymorphic pads that Mewing World suggests using are supposed to be remolded to fit your changing bite every night before bed, and they're also supposed to be worn as much as possible. They also strongly suggest following the series of interoral pulling exercises specific to one's needs that are presented in their course. I have followed this advice - the exercises + the pads - and have seen improvement.

What I don't understand is why you believe wearing a rubber mouthguard (which does not conform to one's bite) would be equal to the a, e, o, u polymorphic pad bite thing (I'd never heard about this prior to this article). You say it's better, but you don't directly explain what makes it better. I'd like to learn more.

a few things to note..

1 - i started this whole thing with starecta back in late 2014 and was one of the first people out of italy to do it. I talk about this here: https://reviv.substack.com/p/my-thoughts-on-the-diy-method-starecta?utm_source=publication-search

I went in circles with it for years and it took me a long time to figure out why.

The reason relates to the fact that you cannot have a bite in a single fixed occlusion. Which i talk about here: https://reviv.substack.com/p/indexed-splints-and-the-magical-perfect

2- These ladies from Mewing World were in the starecta group and took this idea of polymorph pads from that group in my opinion.

Me and marcello were the first ones to make these types of indexed polymorph clipons back in mid 2016 or so. I believe they started years later. And probably saw some of our posts on it as i believe both he and i had posted in several fb groups about what we were doing.

But they never got the update in news that doing this is flawed. Marcello moved on to the 'lingual bite' which i discuss in the article i linked to above.

And i moved on to concluding that a rubber mouthguard is the fastest thing to do.

Comparing me and marcello to these ladies in Mewing world is to me comparing black belts of this game (us) to a couple of white belts who got good at marketing (them).

We understand how and why this stuff works. Which if fundamental in understanding how to not plateau or even regress, which is what indexed polymorph pads will do eventually.

I wear polymorph pads as much as possible during the day, but they aren't indexed to my bite. Rather they're flat on top. I wear a rubber mouth guard to sleep!

yep perfect

So with the pads in like you do, there will be space left between the lower and upper front teeth? Support on molars and open at the front teeth?

Yes exactly!
