One day mouthguards will decimate supplements
And this will send d2c ecom entrepreneurs flooding into this 'biomechanics' space
I love watching Youtube videos of successful ecommerce entrepreneurs.
And so many of them seem to have gotten their rise in the ‘supplements’ space.
It’s a space with high margins where marketing, branding and content is king.
And that is what good ecom entrepreneurs tend to be good at.
So when mouthguards take a bite out of their wallets… i have a feeling they’re going to come flooding into the mouthguard arena.
And I actually welcome the competition.
It will be part of the domino effect of how I think this stuff spreads rapidly around the world one day.
My supplements backstory
I first started purchasing supplements in my early 30’s (around the year 2008 or so).
There were a lot less popular brands back then and I’d usually have about 10 different bottles of different things that i’d take.
I never knew if it did anything but I ‘thought’ it was. And so I just kept taking it for years.
Not only that but i’d brag about it to everyone. Particularly after Tim Ferris’s “4-Hour Body” came out in 2010. In 2011 I was doing the things he talked about almost by the book.
The 6 days of low carbs followed by a massive cheat day. And lots and lots of supplements.
Particularly the ‘PAGG’ stack that he talked about in his book, which was supposed to optimize for fat loss.
P – Policosanol
A – Alpha-lipoic acid
G – Green tea flavanols
G – Garlic extract
Then my collapse of 2014 occurred. The one where the dentist drilled my back teeth and I basically didn’t function a couple months later. Massive brain fog, felt like a hermit, spine and neck aged massively, my life flipped into turmoil, etc.
All my habits changed.
I stopped taking supplements as I struggled to stay afloat
It was during that period of scrambling for my life in 2014 that I stopped with the supplements.
I don’t even remember taking any conscious decision to stop.
I just realized that whatever just happened to me didn’t give a shit whether I took all of those pills.
I still felt like complete shit day in and day out regardless. So I just stopped.
Biomechanics blew chemistry out by a landslide.
And i never returned to those useless pills.
I haven’t taken any sort of supplement since about 2015 or so.
And don’t really have any plan to take them ever again.
I just don’t think our bodies need them. Our bodies function absolutely amazing when you feed them the correct biomechanics.
I predict biomechanics will be the ‘new’ supplements
By this I mean that I think more and more people will conclude the same things I did in time as this whole mouthguard trend gets larger.
At first they’ll continue believing that all those pills actually do something.
But then they’ll start feeling better than they ever had with these simple biomechanics and realize what true progress looks like.
And eventually they’ll experiment with taking less and less of the supplements. Realizing that they feel great and progress with these biomechanics regardless.
Just like I had.
And when that happens it’s like the Death Knell of the supplements market. They will have been hit with the hook that they never saw coming.
And instead they’ll jump into this biomechanics niche that we’re creating.
Because the results people will be getting will just be so much better.
And that is how I think these biomechanics get taken to the next level.
Not because dentists and orthodontists began to accept that we are right and they are wrong.
Not because some research studies showed biomechanics worked.
Not even because Reviv took over the world hahaha (though i’d love if that were the case).
Rather biomechanics will take over this world because it works better and therefore entrepreneurs will want to get rich on it. I believe in one thing over all else.. and that is the power of capitalism.
And those entrepreneurs will bring their “A game” in terms of content, marketing, and the rest of it.
And we at Reviv… will need to be on our A game by then as well.
Interested in investing in Reviv?
My partner and I thought that given the power of our community it would be a good idea to allow the folks that are doing Reviv to invest in and share ownership in the company if you are interested.
We are not going the traditional VC route as I dont want this to be some bloated company that chases growth at any cost... but rather we're only going to be taking checks from friends/family, our community, and investors that we think can be 'strategic' to the hurdles we're going to face in the years to come.
If it is of interest you can check out our pitch deck here: https://wefunder.com/reviv/
Some key highlights:
we did ~$140k revenue in May (annualized this is about $1.7m)
we have been profitable 6 out of 7 months since starting
I operate the company as a single full-time person with 10+ freelancers, which gives us a very 'lean' cost structure and a ton of flexibility
Note that we're only gauging interest for now. Some details about how it works with Wefunder:
When you make a 'reservation' on Wefunder it is a non-binding expression of interest in investing in the company.
I believe the minimum investment is $100
You don’t pay now—your payment is only processed later, once the fundraising round officially opens and only if there is sufficient interest. We only proceed with the legal document step if a min goal of $50k from our community is achieved.
It gives you priority when the round opens. We will only be raising a max of $300k, most likely as a SAFE with a max valuation of $7m.
We think that the story we have started here together with you can change this world in a very positive way. And so we'd love to have the folks that have helped get us here be a part of our journey going forward.

I love this Ken and I would love to invest what I can in the company.
Reviv is life changing! I am sleeping way better, I have incredible energy and feel much more clear! I am getting great feed back from my OMT. I went yesterday and se found my facial nerves have all recalibrated and she observed facial structure changes with her keenly trained eye. next when I go to my Chiro Ill see what he observes in my spinal alignment and structure. al this in just one month with Reviv 1. I will move up to Reviv 2 small soon.
It would be great to not have to take all these supplements!
