I'm gonna play my game
I'm not a dentist and I don't play by their rules. Today i'm going to talk about my philosophy and the legal framework in which I operate.
Some of the comments I get on posts on various groups is “Are you a dentist? Where are your dental credentials?”
To which I proudly retort… “No I am not a dentist. But I don’t have to be one.”
You see the great thing about America is freedom of speech. It’s something that Elon Musk talks a lot about as the reason he purchased Twitter.
I can state my opinion and share my experience till the cows come home.
And if I want to create a paid community where I share my experience and opinions.. I am also free to do so.
Platforms like Skool have thousands of people doing the same thing.
I’m gonna say things the way i wanna say it
Someone commented the other day… “You don’t talk very professional and so this reduces your credibility.”
And my view on this is.. Yes!! I am going to talk the way I want to talk.
I find it much more interesting to read then most of the ‘professional’ garbage i see out there being pushed by dentists and the like.
I also own and run my own businesses in domains that have nothing to do with dentistry. So there is no corporation that is going to stifle what i want to say.
I do and say what i want. And I answer to nobody except myself.
If you don’t like what I am saying… feel free to ignore me. I am not the right approach for you and i get that.
But there are others who are interested. And I also see that.
Everyday I’m barraged by emails and ads that I am not interested in. I ignore them. I don’t bitch.
So why do I do this?
I don’t need this. I fixed all my shit and have a very nice life with my family.
None of us have ANY health issues and I haven’t even gotten sick in over four years.
I charge $100 for a simple rubber mouthguard and a year of access to the community & content. I also respond to all of their comments and messages.
I give my time freely and generously.
I care about the people that join my community and want to see them ALL make it out and get better. I honestly think every single person in the community right now would attest to this.
When i price my time at what I earn doing other things… it costs me a hell of a lot more than $100/year to help a person. So I don’t do this for the money.
I definitely don’t do it for the fun of dealing with all these trolls i sometimes get on my threads in various groups.
Rather I came back because I see shitloads of people suffering and being screwed around by dentists.. and I KNOW (not think) that I can help a lot of them.
Because i have been in the trenches and figured some stuff out that I don’t think anyone else in this game has. And i’ve already applied these principles to help a number of people for several years now.
And I think in time… it will get clearer and clearer as to why I am so confident that I am right.
I do not ‘treat’ patients
My ‘product’ is mainly just information.
I offer a community where folks share with each other and I share my own experience and advice based on that experience.
I do not treat patients. I do not even meet anyone in-person.
If they decide to get a flat plane splint they do so with their own dentist and it has nothing to do with me.
The solution I promote (a rubber mouthguard) is freely available off the shelf
Many patients in the community already have their own mouthguard that they found somewhere. Some choose to buy the one I offer.
There is nothing special about it other than the fact that it is relatively comfortable.
There are over 100 Amazon sellers that sell something similar online and they do so freely without any licenses. Check yourself if you don’t believe me → link.
Because it is an off the shelf appliance and anybody can sell it.
Folks in the community have the option of sharing their progress
Most folks that join my Skool community want support.
I give them the option of sharing what they’re feeling via a diary, which I review and sometimes gives opinions on.
Does that make me a doctor or dentist? No.
Do you sometimes share your health opinions with others? And does that make you a doctor? No it doesn’t.
There is ZERO legal liability to this model
I’ve started a number of businesses in the past and I studied business law in university. I am very aware of liabilities.
Plus I talked to a friend who is a lawyer when I started this.
This is zero liability in doing what I am doing.
This business is a support community and an appliance that is sold off the shelf.
If people want to see a dentist.. they go see a dentist.
If they want to DIY and join a supportive community led by someone that is a veteran of the game… they join Reviv.
It’s as simple as that.
The Mewing case study
My ten year old kid knows what Mewing is. So does everyone in his class.
Why? Simple. It has gone mainstream.
I would estimate there are hundreds of videos about Mewing on Youtube and Tiktok that have gotten over 1 million views at this point. Just search for “Mewing” on Youtube and check for yourself.
If Mewing was completely useless and a hoax, would it have gone mainstream? No. People would have forgotten about it.
But it works for some folks… so it has gone viral.
And where is the peer reviewed study by Dr. Mike Mew that Mewing works? I’ve searched… and haven’t found anything that directly says this.
Did that prevent millions of people from trying it?
Absolutely not.
Why is Mewing not banned by the dental boards? I mean.. after all it has no officially recognized research proving it works.
Because miraculously… the lawyers have found it is impossible to stop a person from holding their tongue on the roof of their mouth. lol
My philosophy towards Reviv is similar to Mewing
Guess what people can also freely do without having a doctor or dentist’s prescription?
They can put a rubber mouthguard in their mouth.
So in my view Reviv holds a lot of parallels to Mewing.
And I hope that in time Reviv evolves in a similar way to Mewing.
Not by convincing dentists of it. I really don’t care about them.
Rather by helping the people who are suffering to help themselves.
And then with time… go ahead and ask the folks in my Reviv community the question… “Are you doing better? Do you think you have a better or worse chance of healing yourself with the help of Ken?”
That is the yardstick I will measure myself by.
And from what i’ve already seen in the progress of some of the folks in my group the past 1.5 years… i’m very bullish.
thank you for the info, the fact that you are not a dentist makes you more credible. dentists have only made me worse. i like your writing style and am looking forward to joining your community!
